Club Med Michès was looking to create an online ad to promote their Michès resort in Playa Esmeralda, Dominican Republic.  They had captured some B-Roll from a previous campaign and were looking to repurpose it for the North American market.

Genero came to us asking for creative ways that we could film a wraparound that would seamlessly transition into the provided B-Roll.

The Mission

We set out to film a wrap around that would seamlessly integrate with the already existing B-Roll.  It had to feel connected and not be abrupt so that the wraparound and the B-Roll complimented each other.

Our solution was to create a coffee shop environment that would be common to a traveler in the United States, using a phone as a portal to the Caribbean.

Services Rendered

We built and dressed our own coffee shop to feel like something found in a big city.  With help of Hair & Make Up along with Wardrobe, we set a tone that hinted at the Caribbean.  Upon completion of filming, the client wanted to take a different approach with how the B-Roll was represented. So, with a quick pivot, we adjusted our editorial to focus more on the transition into the B-Roll.

The Process

Beyond creating a coffee shop set, we also planned out every aspect before filming to make sure that what we captured in production would work in post-production for the transition into footage on a phone.

Once production was complete, it was a matter of finding the right music track and dialing in the edit, color, vfx, and sound effects.

The Outcome

In the end we delivered three different vertical format videos that blended new footage with existing footage for the client.
